Max, You say

>-the pro ABTX crowd
(of which I am one)are arguing that for the future of agricultural
biotechnology(which is at least 5 years away from bringing forth
a major revolution in the seed business) ABTX has built a structure that will be essential for one of the giant companies will need to accomplish their purpose---the turf seed side of the businees of ABTX<

I'm not sure it's 5 years away. In the case of Mycogen they have continued to loose money this year, however Dow who controlled Mycogen had a option to buy out the minorities at $22/share in Feb 99, but decided in late Aug to go to $30. My take is things look very bright for Mycogen and the outside directors actually did their job looking out for the little guy with Dow anxious to play call poker before John Public got a look at Mycogen's hand. Dow and Monsanto know well the value/cost of chemicals (big bucks) used in the ag. business. I don't know ABTX from Adam except what's been posted here, but you need to figure out how they are going to partake of the banquet that is being planned by the others.
