Jim Kelley, Gabriel Dubois,Pat McDaniel are our men of 'numbers'. stock bull: Thanks for taking the time to do the analysis but I am not all that good at figuring out the ASPs,I believe Jim, Gabriel and Pat might be the right people to do this as far as I know. Here is my thought though for what it is worth.The ASPs you come up with could be close in the consumer segment of the business but the business side could be a bit lower since they buy in quantities and commands a possible discount vis-a-vis you and I.Since the bulk of the business is to the business segment the overall ASP could be somewhere between $2300.00 and $2400.00 but don't get me wrong I take more and I am sure you will too.<g> Once again thanks for taking the time.

RE: ASP That kind of unweighted arithmetic mean may byte you right in the ASP. You need, and you don't have, the number of sales of each model. The weighted mean can fall anywhere within the range, and is usually below the unweighted mean. The addition of faster computers (450MHz and 400MHz) bias your computer ASP upward. Try the price movements for the comparable separate models and see if you don't find a hint of erosion. Indeed, you should be able to estimate market shares that would allow to calculated a weighted ASP, but it probably not worth the trouble.
