It is his job to be short. I don't understand how you can't understand this. His job is not trade stocks, is not to index to RUT, is not "long growth stocks", not "long value stocks", but short stocks as he sees fit. To say he's wrong to be short is same as to say plumber is wrong to do plumbing, etc. He's a pro manager of a short fund. That's his specialty.

Do you know it for a fact that he is continuously short Dell since 3 years ago? I seriously doubt it.

BTW, the fact that he survived the late bull as a pro short fund manager speaks volumes as to his exceptional ability, IMO.
