Mike:
Are you allowed to buy puts in IRA account if you do not own the underlying ? or only if you own the underlying ? I have asked my broker this in the past and I believe he only allowed covered calls and protective puts in my IRA... thanks

Given the implosion of most of the financial stocks, what do you figure is next up on the food chain ? Thanks

To all, Compaq stank the house out with their puny 7 cents of eps this quarter. Of course, the maroons are saying that it is "better than expected." I suppose they expected Godzilla to eat Compaq for lunch. <G> Heck, that would probably cut overhead, reduce employee costs and induce a cash inflow from insurance policies. Which is a heck of a lot more profitable than selling commodity boxes.

All I have to say is, this year is bad. Next year is Y2K time, so CPQ is still way overpriced at $25.
