To "Wlcnyc". my friend. you should (IMO) read ALL of the post on this board by a person who refers to himself simply as "GC". he (i am assuming "he" is a "he") seems to really know what he is talking about. of course, i, personally, know really nothing about this individual, but i do find his post to be VERY interesting and really quite full of a lot of - seemingly - VERY useful information!! he seems to have an "inside" line (source) of information to the "inner-workings" of "YARC". take care, my friend. God bless.

As to YARC's competition, you will find the following excerpt in the 9/24/98 Press Release:

biz.yahoo.com

"'RIP'' is technical shorthand for Raster Image Processor which is any device which converts Adobe Systems, Inc.'s (NASDAQ: ADBE - news) Postscript(tm) graphics and text into high resolution images that can be output on film, paper, fabric and other media. RIPS can be in the form of (1) software, (2) hardware, and (3) software and hardware components. The YARC XP is a type (3) RIP system where YARC's state of the art technology addresses a billion dollar market now dominated by Electronics for Imaging, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFII - news). Also showing at Photokina was ENCAD, Inc.(NASDAQ: ENCD - news), manufacturer of wide format color inkjet printers."
