Tony & Intel Investors - Gateway Introduces a Xeon Based PC

For those who think a 450 MHz Xeon PC is a must, you can now get one from Gateway. This may be Intel's way of dispositioning XEONS that don't work in 4-way server systems.

I'm sure AMD shareholders will remind us that nobody needs a PC with a faster processor than whatever AMD's current high end CPU happens to be.

Gateway unveils PC with Pentium II Xeon

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D., Oct 12 (Reuters) - Computer seller Gateway Inc.
said Monday that it unveiled a home computer system that uses Intel Corp.'s
(Nasdaq:INTC - news) fastest processor, the latest 450 MHz Pentium II Xeon.

Gateway's GX-450XL is a fully featured multimedia system that will begin selling on October 19.

''This is technology at the cutting edge,'' said Mike Holstein, Gateway's director of desktop products.
