ADSL just became available to my home and I looked into the costs.

For the low end 256k download speed its the $40 per month you mention. That's in addition to the cost of your voice line, even though you can use the same wires.

Plus an ISP cost - the one I know here in Portland, OR is $18 per month unlimited.

Plus you buy a $300 modem from US West and you need a network card in a dedicated PCI slot.

I'm no expert, but that's my understanding.

Tim, do those adsl prices include internet access or is it just for the line?

Prices look great if its a package deal.
