Motorola Worldwide Smartcard Solutions Division Provides Letter of Intent To
ALYA

Business Editors

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1998--ALYA
International, Inc. ("ALYA" or the "Company") has received a letter of
intent from Motorola Worldwide Smartcard Solutions Division (Motorola
WSSD) to propose O.P.E.N.centrix Advanced Access Management System for
its headquarters campus in Schaumberg, northern Illinois.
The Motorola WSSD campus comprises 21 buildings with
approximately 400 secured doors. Installation of the ALYA system is
expected to be completed in eight months. Financial details will be
announced following final signing of the agreement between ALYA and
Motorola WSSD.
The announcement of the letter of intent was made by Milan
Carnogursky, chairman of ALYA International. "ALYA and Motorola have
worked together on projects over the past three years," said Mr.
Carnogursky, "We look forward to introducing the O.P.E.N.centrix
Advanced Access Management System to their headquarters."
O.P.E.N.centrix is a building access control system that
interoperates with building automation systems, resulting in Smart
Buildings. It uses the LonWorks communication protocol and the Neuron
chip manufactured by Motorola.
"ALYA's O.P.E.N.centrix system," said Mr. Carnogursky, "provides
intelligent identification information for other building automation
systems, such as lighting, heating, air conditioning, elevator and
telephones. Therefore, O.P.E.N.centrix, while providing advanced
access control, can also provide significant operating efficiencies
and savings on energy costs."
ALYA International, a company designing software for building
automation, is listed on NASDAQ-OTC, and anticipates sales of $54
million by 2002.
