BAAN is mostly an isolated issue, with many of it's problems being "internal" vs market conditions. Their revenue problems come from the fact they "compete directly" with SAP, PSFT, ORCL, JDEC. ITWO is THE GORILLA of SCM, a strategic initiative corporations "must" implement to remain competitive. These typically aren't the fluff applications which fall under the budget knife. Analysts and money managers "again" don't seem to get it! Get ready for their Upgrades when ITWO shoots back through $25.......... IMO!

Software giant faces fight as i2 join forces

Journal of Commerce

Two supply-chain software companies, Sweden's [ Industri-Matematik International ] and i2 Technologies of the United States, have formed an alliance that they say challenges the dominant market position of German software giant [ SAP AG ] .

"With this alliance, i2 and Industri-Matematik have combined to drive the greatest returns across the supply chain in the most rapid time," said Gregory A. Brady, president of i2 in Irving, Texas.Analysts suggest that IMI is looking for a partnership to boost its declining stock price. But the move also is typical of the current environment in the supply chain management software market, where specialized companies are joining forces in an attempt to offer customers a product that can manage the entire supply chain instead of just a piece of it.
