Townsend as senior vice president and chief financial officer reporting to Michael DeBlasio, first senior vice president. Mr. Townsend's skill and experience in the corporate finance area strengthen Loral's management team, and allow Michael P. DeBlasio to focus more on the broad strategic objectives of the company. Mr. Townsend, 48, joins Loral from ITT Industries, a defense electronics and engineering company, where he served as corporate controller and director of strategy. Mr. Townsend received a master's degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a master's degree in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan.
