wake up on the wrong side of the bed again this morning jas

With a headache! The only question that needs to be answered today, is will I have a bed to wake up in tomorrow?

With anticipated weakness in revs, even if Xylan makes their numbers, declining sales may be used as a gauge for the future and cause XYLN to continue to languish.

October tax loss selling will likely continue.

Many companies are shifting budgets from capital expenditures to Y2K solutions.

But hey, what the hell do I know? Jach has the inside track on what Lucent is going to buy next. FORE, CIEN, XYLN. Once they're done with that, they start importing Big Macs from Moscow.

Since we've heard from the M&A department, what's the news from the short term trading desk?

Hoping for the best from this afternoon's earnings, but would prefer a conference call filled with confidence, and maybe some big deal with IBM (whose price has fared best in recent weeks).

That's 2 cents worth,

jas.
