Tom,

Right after I wrote the last post, the UPMO went from .29 to .49.

.45 - .55 is mid-range, which implies flatness, so a reading of .49 is not strongly positive, but if it gets over .60, then that is a different story.

I have noticed that the downswings in the TICK are smooth, implying smooth selling without any major sell program, but all of the upmoves were basicly initiated by buy programs. I am assuming that it is a buy program if the TICK moves up more than 200 points, in less than 5 minutes. Sometimes its moving 100-200 points up in 1 minute.

If there are SELL PROGRAMS today, they will do a bit of damage. There was a positive tick of over 800 and the DOW only went to UP 50 range.

Tom,

Now the DOWNMO has weakened from .55-.60 earlier to .40 range.

So the upward momentum could be at the beginning of gaining strength, but as I indicated before one strong strading program could change that easily.

Tom,

I covered my short bonds at 128 18 from 132 01. Did you go long? I'm still long the SP's.
