MAJOR COMPANY/INDUSTRY NEWS: (All prices as of 1:05 p.m. ET)
** Computer chip maker LSI LOGIC (LSI: 11-3/4, - 3/8), slammed by the global slowdown
in semiconductor sales, said Wednesday it would lay off around 1,200 employees, or 17% of its
workforce, and shutter several plants in a bid to cut costs. As a result of the sweeping
restructuring, the Milpitas, Ca.-based company said it would take a third-quarter charge of $326
million on third-quarter results which came in at a loss of $2.01 per diluted share compared with
a profit of $0.31 per share for the same quarter a year earlier. See Full Story.

short term trading Cube (Update)

Message 6015274

"hold the rest with a stop at $16 until I get that tingly feeling
looks like $18"
"think it's safe to move the stop up to $16 1/2?
not yet"

I did move my stop up to $16 1/2 a bit ago.
This morning I moved it up to 17 1/4.

I'll have to move it to $18 soon...
