I agree. That has got to be the stupidest comment I've heard. What a way to kill a nice rally. Now it is clear HWP is brain-dead.

They are clueless about spin. They should have said "we see sales stronger in the first half of 1999 due to year 2000 issues"

To Paul-- I asked my wife, who is an English professor, which was correct; dumb-ass or dumb ass. She said there were three books on the subject but it remained highly controversial, and depended upon whether your intent was to use the phrase as a noun or an adjective. Most gramaticists preferred "dunb-ass" for ajectival statements.

This is more interesting than the last two years' stock performance!

<<they're getting their butts whupped>> with only 4% of the world population with a computer, HP's CEO is looking too close to his own backyard. just spoke with Dell's stock analyst. they see NO such slowdown for the the next three to four years. there is much more to the current computer boom that Y2K. Y2K is a small part of it. The internet is the bigger factor, not Y2K.
