Two significant facts from the CC:

(1) We won business in over 250 new accounts in the quarter-

This is really a large number for new customers. The positive part of this is that follow-on business can be great.

(2) In the middle of next year we expect to begin shipments of OmniCore, a 160 Gbps packet and cell switch that we've been developing for the last 18 months. It's targeted at service provider networks, and at enterprise network backbones

160 Gbps is much higher that csco 12000 as well as LU packetstar which both at between 40-80 Gbps. As pure forwarding rate is not the only factor in these environment xyln needs to go hand-in-hand with this fast 160 Gbps, label and class based QoS aware fast ASIC technology (which xyln said they are very good at doing ASIC) and all the bells and whistles of routing software (such as BGP4+).
