One thing that I can not understand is VLSI not using more of its $300 Million of cash to increase share repurchases? Unbelievably, cash per share for VLSI is actually higher than Intel (6.86 vs. 4.42, Q2 #s), and while Intel has been buying back shares at five to six times book value, VLSI declines to buy back BELOW book?

If anyone doubts the effect this can have on a stock price, take a look a CY. The stock traded as low as 5 1/2 on Sept. 1; The next day the board announced a 14 Million share repurchase, and in a couple weeks the stock was trading at 9, 50% over book. Go figure...
