In order to figure out whether the earnings report will be good or not, I recommend watching the stock in the afternoon on the day earnings will be announced... If lots of buying and the stock moving up then earnings will be positive. If not, then look out below.

I know this sounds like I'm kidding....but I'm actually not. Today I watched sebl go up 4 pts....just happened to be the day they were announcing earnings. Lots of buying in the afternoon and I think the stock went from 17 to 20 in the last hour or so. Then sebl announces good numbers with very positive forward guidance. Gee....what a surprise...

I guess my point is that there's no reason to try to figure it out ourselves. Just see what the big guys are doing.....they always seem to know before we do anyway. I'm getting sick of this but I've realized it's just not going to change so one might as well accept it and learn to take advantage of it.

Raptor:

My only guess is that they want shareholders sufficient time to absorb the financial numbers and guidance given in the quarterly report. I would assume the employees have a better idea of the true implications of the numbers that are to be reported. Maybe management feels it's better to be safe than sorry, in terms of having a level playing field.
