Hello TR, I know what you mean about the media.

I doubt CNBC works for the average guy. Here's a quote from Louis Rukeyser:

"while they were repeatedly shocking ordinary people away from sound equity investing, stocks have gone up by 1,000%. Use these fright merchants for entertainment, if you must, but for goodness sake don't let them louse up your own financial future."

According to my information the 'great fix' for Y2K has been going on for over 24 months now and is expected go on for another 15 months or so.I don't know what makes Mr.Platt of HP think the hardware spending would come to a 'standstill'(well sort of) during latter half of 1999,deploying his logic shouldn't we have already seen it by now since a lot of companies are already on it?

Anyway since you haven't seen the report on Platt's comment I thought
I post a link to one version in case you want to know more about it.
