"The Post" to which this is a reply links to another thread. However, posts have now been deleted from that thread that render "The Post" meaningless. This IMHO highlights the problem of the "Law of unintended consequences." This is not meant as an indictment of SI, merely a critical analysis of our community, its operations and evolution. This is a problem that extends beyond the virtual reality of SI into the actual reality of our savings accounts, when it occurs outside the Coffee Shop (e.g., Stock Threads). Any post can be referenced, linked to, or discussed both within its home thread or in any of dozens of other threads or Private Messages. Even worse than the violence done by negating the meaning of those discussions is the loss of context and the resultant misinterpretation of what is said.
