On the topic of record deletion, here is a related discussion. What's written in SI is transient. IMHO, the major advantage of this medium is that it is not transient. A streaming chat room is transient and I think usually a total waste of time. Posts to message boards like SI are suppose to persist. I'm one of the few who goes back reads others and my own commentary. I learn a great deal about me that way. Yes, yes! In the normal course of our lives we are involved in relationships and discussions most of which leave no record for latter consideration. What you wrote exists in you. You can always rewrite it. It isn't lost. You have to be objective about what you're doing when you post. At least you have to understand what are your own motives. Mine are to find out what I believe. What is important is the accuracy of the record. You can also think of it in this way: there is no embarrassing evidence left in case something changes. No record. In the long run, I love to be embarrassed because it implies that I learned something totally unexpected. I'm suggesting that you convert a disadvantage into an advantage. It is good to tangle with others. It is good to back off to avoid entanglement. You get tapas from humility and you'll see the payoff in your own market moves. You'll see that you're more careful.
