nVidia has other chips besides TNT

True. And I should have mentioned that. But I think (perhaps wrongly) that those chips are too old and have too little margin to matter. Would you buy a Riva128 when you can get a 16MB Banshee for $89? (and this is the introductory price which should fall in time)

view,

They registered to go public in March. I have the documentation they filed on June 8th with the SEC. Due to market conditions and investor sentiment they have been on an indefinite holding pattern. I agree with Sun Tzu in that they have a very small chance of going public in the near future. They are in the wrong market segment, too much competition and not enough money here. The only reason 3dfx was able to go public was because at the time they had a compelling story with potentially establishing a new standard since their chips would be in arcades, consoles and pc.
I tend to fear/respect Nvidia more than most people on this board but I do not see them going public any time soon. I think they will get bought by someone since they have a substantial presence in the market.
