Burt - Re: "What's your take on the Micron stake for INTEL?"

Two key objectives -

1. Get/Force Micron to commit to RAMBUS DRDRAM development and production. Micron has been actively an alternative DRAM technology called SLDRAM - Synchronous Link DRAM.

2. Intel I believe wants to assist Micron - an AMERCAN company - in a time of financial need to help keep Micron financially viable and technologically viable - sort of patriotic.

Intel invested in Samsung (Korea) several years ago and Samsung hasn't done much for Intel lately - in fact, it has set up Alpha, Inc. to essentially compete with Intel's high end CPUs.

So, to some extent, Intel seems to be saying "screw Samsung", let's Buy American !
