You quote the passage of Genesis 16:3 assuming that Sarai's words were gospel.

Sarah is not even speaking in 16:3.

In those days it was common for a barren wife to have children for her husband by a servant.

That may be so, but Hagar is referred to as "wife" a number of times. Further, Deuteronomy explains that even if a man has a son from a "hated wife" over "another wife," the son of hated wife, if he is the first born, shall have double inheritance of the son of the other wife.

I noticed you did not even care to comment on the difficulties set up in the Bible with Ishmael being 17 years old and yet the descriptions are of a baby.
