I'll second what Glenn said -- I have enjoyed your posts as well. I think I'm figuring out the menagerie. William is a bull. Glenn is a bear. James, who is very wise (but can be cranky and hasty), is a badger. Jan is a fox. Mary Meeker and Jamie Kerrigan are Mahouts who tend the Elephants. Vinik runs the cockrocah fund which runs from the light. John Doerr is a ?? Snake? e.b. (a she-bear)

Well Glenn, if that is not James' own thoughts & words, then I guess James should have been a little more clear on that- used quote marks or something... Let's take James out and shoot him. Seriously, I see where the post was unclear. He really jumped down my throat about my post to somebody else re the new plan for B&N to do an IPO in early 1999. He apparently did not know about this, and claimed I was out of touch for not knowing the B&N IPO was off (meaning the pre-Bert IPO plan). Pretty strange. Your are correct on that. James you overreated<VBG> Anyway, life is too short. I suppose this is amusing to a third-party! I was not the one attacking or the attackee so it was funnier that way<G> And thanks for your "welcome" ! It's appreciated. You input in appreciate. Glenn
