You talk as if abortions were not done after 2 to 3 months. And yet the feminist position is that abortion should continue to have zero restrictions up past the 6th and 7th month, right up to the moment of birth, for any reason. The fact is, the feminists do not respect life in the womb, otherwise they would change their tune.

The feminists urged Bill Clinton to veto the PBA ban because it did not have provision for an exception for "the health" of the mother. You and I and everyone knows that "the health" includes mental health, which includes just about any excuse. "You would be depressed if you had to give birth to this child, which you have been carrying in your womb for 6 months? Okay, we'll put down "mental health of the mother" as the reason for having this abortion".

So you see, the feminist position on abortion is clearly the same now as it always has been: unrestricted abortion for any reason, up until the moment the baby takes its first breath. It's a morally reprehensible position, and it is evil.

Does that "extension" theory apply right up to the time that the doctor caves in the baby's skull and sucks out the brain in a "partial birth" type abortion? Just wondering. JLA

Month 3 Your Baby

After 8 weeks as embryo, baby now is called a "fetus."
Fingers and toes have soft nails.
Mouth has 20 buds that will become "baby teeth."
You can hear your baby's heartbeat for the first time (10 to 12 weeks) using a special instrument called a "doptone."
For the rest of pregnancy, all body organs will mature and fetus will gain weight.
By the end of this month, the fetus is 4 inches long and weighs a little over 1 ounce.

Month 4 Your Baby

The fetus moves, kicks, swallows, and can hear your voice.
The skin is pink and transparent.
Umbilical cord continues to grow and thicken to carry enough nourishment from mother to fetus -- but it also can pass along hazards like tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
Placenta is fully formed.
By end of 4th month, fetus is 6 to 7 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces.

Month 5 Your Baby

Fetus becomes more active, turning from side to side and sometimes head over heels.
Fingernails have grown to tips of fingers.
Fetus sleeps and wakes at regular intervals.
Fetus has a month of rapid growth. At the end of the 5th month, fetus is 8-12 inches long and weighs 1/2 to 1 pound.

Month 6 Your Baby

Skin is red and wrinkled and covered with fine, soft hair.
Fetus at this stage usually is too small and its lungs not ready for life outside its mother. If born now, fetus might survive with intensive care.
Eyelids begin to part and the eyes open.
Finger and toe prints can be seen.
Fetus continues its rapid growth. At the end of the 6th month, the fetus is 11 to 14 inches long and weighs 1 to 1-1/2 pounds.

<<Dwight, just because there is a fetal heart beat, does not mean a 2 mos old fetus is sustainable life.>>

I would have to agree with Michelle on this. It is not likely that most babies at two month old would be able to sustain their own life without the resources of the mother or some equivalent substitute.

Of course, I'd have to say the same about most 2 year olds. Pinch their heads off too Michelle?
