They are reallllllly going to be pissed when Micosoft wins this anti-trust suit.

You talkin' to me? Because I've never said I expect Microsoft to lose. They got good lawyers, and Bill seems to actually be into letting them do their job these days. He used to seem intent on acting as his own attorney. But to predict the outcome with certainty, because you philosophically disagree with antitrust, seems to be, you know, one of these "feelings" and "emotions" things.

It'll take a while for this to shake out, as the NYT said editorially yesterday:

No matter who wins the arguments in the next couple months, no one doubts that the case will end up in the United States Supreme Court.

That ain't going to happen over the next few weeks. We'll see if Microsoft can come up with anything better that the revisionist history defense.

Your right Lindy - we will really be pissed if they win because it would have proved that the government and/or the courts did not understand what MSFT has been getting away with in the industry for years or they understood but were scared away at the MSFT economic disaster FUD that MSFT has already begun to spread.

I would turn the tables around on people like you - and say that you will be screaming blue murder when MSFT loses the DOJ case. How unfair it was that MSFT was picked on (oops - your complaining about that now). How the Government has become Communist in mindset for not letting business rule itself. So we might be pissed if MSFT wins, but you will be royally pissed when MSFT loses.

I'm totally pro-MSFT but think all this negative news will drive the stock price down (read: buying op) into the low 90s I expect. In the past I've noticed the day the stock opens with a significant gap down tends to be the low. Could be a few weeks before we see that.

(PS.... f$%^&*^%* the DOJ. That feels better <g>)
