Lindy, Toy, Daniel - I keep seeing things about "winning" or "losing" the case; the vast majority of these end up without a clear winner or loser among the litigants themselves.

Will MSFT be vindicated in their "absolutist" defense? I think not. Get ready for concessions of some kind before this gets to the Supreme court.

Will the DOJ and the AG's be throwing confetti and popping champagne corks? IMO, no. Look for a court-ordered special master to oversee some kind of agreement. Anybody remember Judge Greene?

What will the situation give us? What else will happen? My guess is legislative action to reinforce/complicate the somewhat aging anti-trust provisions.

Only then will the DOJ and AG's do their champagne routine, when yet another layer of the business community has to hire legal specialists to interpret even more regulation.

Who wins? I've said it before. The lawyers.

Mr. K.

I would turn the tables around on people like you - and say that you will be screaming blue murder when MSFT loses the DOJ case.
No, No, No, Toy, I fully expected them to lose going in. Antitrust law is rigged to convict anyone who is charged. It turns out that the case is so weak, that Microsoft has a chance of winning. I won't scream if they lose, I will just feel sad for our country.
