All. Very quiet thread we have here. Msft and IBM came in above estimate. Anybody wondered why the market went downhill after 2 pm?
Well, I heard that an analyst from Piper J. opined that Dell could have lower sales or something like that. This spread pretty quick to the rest of the techs and I guess reminded investors how far the market has come in the last 9 trading sessions. BTW, Dell denied knowing of any shortfall in sales. Most of the techs are up in after hours trading. Msft was up over 2, Dell 1 etc.

I listened to J. Bollinger, tech.analyst, and looked at that nice W bottom. He thinks that the market needs a breather, could go down some and then resume the uptrend. I also put the opinion on the other day from J. Favor, another tech. analyst and he called for a downturn in the middle of this week, give or take a cpl of days. Tony, in case you read this, I know you did not know who J. Favors is but I thought I should put some of that stuff on so you all don't panic if it goes down again. Maybe those guys will be wrong and the market took its little breather today. The Dow going from 180 down to around 40 is taking a breather and the NAZ going from almost 40+ to 9 minus should qualify for a breather also. gg. Those good earnings coming out after the market should give us an up opening tomorrow.

Bad news today was that the trade deficit jumped from about 14 bill. to above 16 billion. Hm. Something should be done about that. Not only do we give 18 billions away to prep up other countries, (IMF) we are starting to give the whole store away - trade that is and flooded market with all kinds of goodies. With a double whammy like that, who needs enemies? I guess I should have mentioned friends somewhere.

Well, Abby Cohen thinks the DOW should be at 10.000 in one year and we will have forgotten the hard times by then. Hm. And here I thought we were supposed to be at 12.000 by the end of this year. Not Abby's stance. Hers is 9300.

You all have a nice evening. I was ready to enjoy a bottle of wine tonight until I noticed that all my profits from earlier today evaporated into thin air. gg.

Hi Sonny,

Sorry I didn't have a chance to get back to you yesterday.

Yes DELL would have been one of those stocks to use the buy and hold but hey trading is more fun right!?? I had the same thought about DELL, I told Tech Wiz I thought maybe the wind had come out of the sails for a little while. Ut Oh, better watch out for Sonki's baseball bat. <ggg>

That one stock WAS doing ok until we started talking about it again. <ggg> Actually the whole market was doing great until after lunch. I didn't have a chance to check and see what the problem was.

I hope we continue to go up until at least feb or march. I got my quarterly statement for my 401k and I was actually surprised it didn't go down any more than it did.

Have a great day and I'll chat with ya later

Ann
