Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) 100 1/4 -2 11/16: software maker posts a fiscal Q1 net of $0.56 a share, excluding items, seven cents ahead of the First Call estimate, vs year-ago profit of $0.36 a share; revenues rose 27.4% to $3.95 bln; cites strong Windows 98 launch in japan and Europe for strong results; however, Asian outlook remains soft.....

RealNetworks Inc (RNWK) 38 +5/8: developer of Internet streaming media software reports a Q3 loss of $0.04 a share, 3 cents narrower than analysts were expecting; RNWK lost $0.09 on a pro forma basis in the yr-ago period...

Level One Communications (LEVL) 23 1/2 -1 3/8: mixed-signal application chips reports Q2 earnings of $0.23 a share, 2 cents above the First Call mean. LEVL made $0.11 in the yr-ago....
