Michelle, so we are to believe that because women apparently pursue Bill Clinton, therefore we can condone his behavior....

If he had forced himself upon women (like Packwood), that would be different? So we are to imagine that when he made the miscalculation of whipping out Bill, Jr. in front of Paula and making a crude sexual suggestion, that was not ala Packwood. She wanted him, right? And that scene was never repeated before or since...

Clinton allegedly told Monica that he'd been with hundreds of women. What makes you think Paula was the lone exception, the single case of the woman who didn't pursue him? To say that her case was thrown out misses a major point, and that it that the case was dismissed on factual misrepresentation by Clinton and his defense. You might want to reconsider that line, because I'm not sure that the case is destined for a happy ending for Bill.

I'm not an advocate or apologist for the RR or any other right wing causes. They have their baggage, also, but the hypocrisy that I see in this case is incredible. The politics of convenience, and the moral relativism that go with it, we can all do without. They are not what made this country strong.

As you seem to be fond of history, you might recall that in less certain times, people in this country looked for strong leadership. We all have the luxury of arguing about petty crap like this because Greenspan has had the economy on autopilot. Well now that the wheels are coming off of this economic train, let's see how willing we are to put up with inferior leadership.

He's been a good President? How do you measure that? He's had the wind at his back ever since he took office. He's already pissed away the hard fought peace dividend that he inherited. He swept into office without a major military adversary in the world. When was the last time a President had THAT luxury? And then he takes credit for the wonderful way things are running.....like he had a damn thing to do about it.

Bill wants to take credit for the great economy. I won't be an incredibly harsh critic....in fact I'll make it easy...just tell me ONE (1) policy of his (original thought, please, not from the Republican platform) that has HELPED the economy.

Nationalized health care.....nope
Raising minimum wage...nope (go back and read your Econ book)
Higher taxes...nope (see same Econ book)
Balanced budget...trick question! Not his idea. Remember, he actually argued against a balanced budget this soon. Said it would wreck the economy. Nice try.

This has nothing to do with family values. It has to do with character, personal intiative, responsibility, accountability....

I would settle for being able to watch the news with my kids without having to explain what the President was doing with that fat young girl in his office.....AND WHY IT IS IN FACT THE WRONG THING TO DO!

Hi Michelle,

Your tenacity and spunk in defending your views despite being outnumbered (not outgunned) by your opponents, make you a Silicon Valley Joan of Arc in my eyes.

Read this week's New Yorker. Good opening article about how Starr's plan all along was to so humiliate the president that he would immediately resign in disgrace, granting him a quick victory. The best laid plans of mice and men...

<<Well, you DONT do it by creating an IC that goes on and on for years looking for -corruption- and then, when he cant find that, decides to destroy a 22 yr olds life and humiliate a President by publishing explicit sexual details of their physical relationship for all the world to see!>>

Come on. Are you trying to convince us that either one of them weren't hoping for notoriety over this stuff. Monica didn't want all of her friends and family knowing she did the highest executive of the most powerful man in the world? Bill didn't have in the back of his mind memoirs of his exploits? I think they both had a different timing to achieve this notoriety. But please, nobody's buying this "private and personal" sympathy ploy any more.
