Jozef, I once argued with Paul that Quake worked fine on my P166+ and he pointed out that I was running it at 320x200x16 colors. At that resolution it looked like a cheap cartoon but it worked. At 65K+ colors and 640x480 or better, it's an entirely different experience. Something like the difference between masturbation and sexual intercourse .. the real thing being quite a bit more detailed, interesting, and enjoyable.

I suggest that you go to the local store and run Quake, G-Police, Incoming, Commanche and dozens of other popular games on a fully equipped PII/450 with a solid sound system. After that, I'm sure that you'll be thinking about how you might forego your next stereo or TV upgrade and find your way into owning a "real" PC.

You'll never know what you've being missing until you try.
