I'm not sure if this is a debate channel, but I did notice you posting this...

I, right now, am in pursuit of the Quest for the Historical Jesus. No, not the book written by David Schweitzer, as I have already read that. I'm here to find all the interpretations of Jesus from or around his time, and make an assessment based upon them.

I consider myself a Spiritual Christian and I do my best to live by God's grace and rely on His works
on the cross, as I mentioned to John earlier.

Here's a question for many of the Christians on this board. Did you know that there are Gospels that still exist today that were not included in the Bible? Did you know there is a Gospel of Thomas and a Gospel of Phillip? Did you also know that a fragment of the Gospel according to Peter exists? Why were none of these gospels incorporated into the Bible? Simple. The Gospel of Phillip was written by gnostics, and so was the Gospel of Peter. The gnostic Christian view wasn't prevalent during the days of the construction of the Bible, so therefore, they were excluded. If information about Jesus was excluded from the Bible, doesn't it seem difficult to fully obtain a grasp of what Jesus taught? Why did gnostics believe the way they did? Wouldn't you think they have a better grasp on Jesus' teachings than we do today... seeing as how they lived in his time?

Again, I consider myself a historian without the actual title... the person trying to find the practical truth. If there is no practical truth, then I try for the abstract.

Ignorance is not bliss,
