Marc,

My French is fine, most of the article (the first one) is a re-hash (in French) of the spec sheets/PR that ATI has put out already. I can translate the whole thing line-by-line if I have to, but I didn't see any new information. It doesn't appear from the article that the writer had an actual card, rather that a contact at ATI gave him a bunch of info including some screen shots.

What did I miss?

Michael

BTW: I'd not sure where you get the idea I think that the TNT is the big threat. I've said over and over that I think that ATI is the main competition and they're one to beat and that their new chip is a big threat (if it comes out on time and performs at spec) because of it's low cost.

Since TNT is released and Rage128 isn't, this is pretty much the pattern I would expect. What were the implications of your search as you understood them?

My expectations are that Rage128 is close to (maybe slightly behind) TNT, but also offers excellent DVD support. It is likely going to be found in a lot of boxes.

HP seems content to go through Christmas with Rage Pro, so they must be planning on using Rage128. HP just made a press release about intending to be #1 in home PC's. If everyone else has TNT or Banshee and HP has Rage Pro I think they'll be hard pressed to gain much ground this year.
