I'm wondering about the timing of expenditures on the fab refurbishments. If they come soon, it could provide some support for CYMI's sales and earnings. If they don't come soon, we may see further disillusionment striking on continued weak numbers without a clear target for higher earnings for some time to come.

Though it is nice to see some rally, I think the stock may have gotten ahead of itself. We may see further weakness ahead as a more somber economic expectation returns.

I see. Does anyone know if Cymer had or has any Y2K-related risks, and the extent to which these risks have been examined or resolved?

re :"Cymi very nicely climbing":

A few lucky people have doubled their money in the last 10 trading days. Everyone else (must be about 99.7% of all current shareholders) is waaaaaay underwater. If we retest 6ish and hold, I'll be in, spreading my money among cymi, asmlf, and klac. Stunning volatility will continue. I'm stunned, anyway. The only question is whether we retest and hold (establishing a floor), or set new lows. Mr. Market's mood will swing 180 degrees when the market's 1999 earnings estimates become realistic.
