I seem to recall the Oct 28th date from a while ago. The bottom line is that most people are not expecting any major positive news this quarter. They just started advertising and no major resellers/baby bells have signed on with GMGC. If we get any real news it would be a positive, unless the stock runs up prior to the release date. There was some decent buying yesterday up to the 6 5/8 level, but without any significant news or direction from the company, we will stay in this range... Terp.

Moving the earnings date probably means nothing more other than Steve Markman did not want to be in Atlanta during the release and accompanying conference call. The conference call begins at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time. Replay call # is 703.925.2435, passcode: 1046903. The live call # is 703.736.7227.

Another possible reason is that GMGC is reportedly signing up 300 to 400 new subscribers a day at each of the shows. (Including the Atlanta show, there have been 15 days of technology shows since September.) If the number of Portico show subscribers is accurate, the Atlanta show (at which there are supposed to be 100,000 persons attending over the last 3 days) could account for as many as 1500 new Portico subscribers. Perhaps General Magic wants to be able to make some reference to subscriber numbers or growth with these last 3 days of the Atlanta show included. Your guess is as good as mine.

Rick, when the earnings were delayed from the end of February until early March this year it coincided with the Microsoft announcement.

I am not saying it will be meaningful in a positive way this time, just that it certainly does not always portend bad news.
