Simply put, I think it takes only a GENERAL knowledge of the technical issues to invest profitably in this area. Something about missing forests by looking at trees to closely. One quickly realizes that efforts at becoming "market wise" are better rewarded than becoming "technology knowledgeable", and requires less effort too. As a nice bonus, the "technically challenged" as they've been called, have fewer opinionated people irritating them with arcane arguments about peripheral details which are meaningless to the pursuit of their goals.
