Scott,

If we sell off, a 5% sell off might be in the works. If we sell off from here.....

Scott re >>Tom, since you are the position trader of the bunch I would appreciate any thoughts you might have<<

I think that GZ is the ultimate position trader---in the time that he stays long or short, I've probably swung back and forth several times!

Anyway, not sure that I can be of much help since my positions are strictly based off the signals that are generated -- and the system does not provide any guidance as to the magnitude of the move other than that at the 40/45 point level, I am required to close out the position and go flat. Incidently, based on the last signal--the point to have gone flat would have been at about the 1060 level.

As far as your initiating a position trade, my sense is that it may be worthwhile to do so if you are looking to get about a 20-30 point move. However, the mindset for position trading is very different than that for day trading and for me the biggest problem that I have when I day trade is to transition out of that mindset--and so far I have had mixed success. I think that the serious money to be made is on the long side at this point--with proper entry after we have a sell-off.

Will let you know when I have a sell signal on my system --- I will go short when that occurs.
