TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1998--Diversinet Corp. (NASDAQ-Small Cap:DVNTF) (CDN:DVNT) a leading technologies provider of authentication and authorization security for digital communications and electronic commerce over corporate networks, the Internet, and telecommunications systems today announced that it has entered into a licensing and marketing agreement with Microforum Inc., an integrated Internet Applications & Marketing Communications Company.

Under terms of the agreement, Microforum will license Diversinet's Passport Certificate product, and recommend it as the preferred security technology to the customers of its iFrontECS, Electronic Commerce suite of applications. Some of Microforum's customers include, Business Depot (the Canadian subsidiary of Staples), Ford Motor Company of Canada, and StorageTek.

As part of the agreement, Diversinet will recommend the iFrontECS suite as the Electronic Commerce application complementing their security technology in the retail and automotive environments.

"We're extremely excited about the possibilities that the Diversinet technology provides as an enhancement to the iFrontECS solution," said Eric H. Winston, President & CEO of Microforum Inc. "Diversinet's authentication and authorization security capabilities will provide a major component in satisfying business issues as we move into the Business to Business E-commerce arena. We look forward to a proactive partnership with Diversinet as part of our expansion in the U.S. e-commerce market," added Mr.Winston.

"We have now signed agreements in the telecommunications, e-mail, ISP and e-commerce markets. We expect this relationship with Microforum to produce revenues as their customer base is exposed to the Passport Certificate product, which secures on-line transactions. Mr. Moustafa continued, "This licensing agreement coupled with our other licensing agreements and strategic alliances are all part of our business plan to build sales via resources inherent within our partners businesses--namely large customer bases and the value of their endorsements of our e-commerce security products."
