TMSSequoia's Professional Services Secures Million Dollar Backlog PR Newswire, Tuesday, December 22, 1998 at 12:50 STILLWATER, Okla., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- TMSSequoia(TM) (BB: TMSS) announced today that its Professional Services Division has secured a backlog $1,007,000 for contract engineering services. TMSSequoia has signed contracts and begun work on projects for Tulsa County Government, Tinker Air Force Base, and Thrifty Rental Car. This backlog alone is expected to keep the division fully loaded for a period exceeding four to five months. TMSSequoia Chairman Dana Allen commented, "We are very pleased that the Professional Services Division has made this healthy turnaround in contracted work, which will enable it to return to profitability." Tulsa County Government has contracted with TMSSequoia to develop a system to image-enable millions of land records and lien documents that currently reside in its mainframe system. TMSSequoia has already delivered an EDMS land record management system this year for the Oklahoma County Government. Streamlining the current system is intended to increase customer responsiveness, significantly improve workflow, as well as reduce costs. TMSSequoia was awarded a Phase II contract in late summer for a Small Business Innovations Research (SBIR) grant from Tinker Air Force Base (Oklahoma City), one of the largest military aircraft maintenance facilities in the U.S. The Company has begun creating an intelligent automated data extraction process to remove information from scanned images of legacy engineering drawings. The new process will replace the current, manual data extraction process, which is very labor intensive, slow, time-consuming, and thus costly. Also contributing to the backlog is the creation of a custom database application for Thrifty Rental Car (Tulsa). The new system will be integrated with the firm's existing systems to improve dealer support services. TMSSequoia is a software technology company that provides image-based software solutions for businesses worldwide (www.tmsinc.com).
