the discussion was a Run UP TO earnings....
and the fact that in the past you could buy options and expect a ramp into earnings...

if you are doing an option play for a ramp into earnings..you buy at a different time than a play ON the announcement of earnings....and that time factor etc..can work against you

if you aren't clear on that strategy I suggest you read the market gems thread....she focuses on plays RUNNING UP TO earnings...and frequently sells before the announcement...

sorry if that wasnt clear...

and you have to understand that options are very complicated and just because the stock moves 10 points...doesnt mean your option moves

in fact I gave you an example where the call options were worth LESS a day or two later and Dell was up almost 10

and that is why alot of people lose money on options...
