voodoo: you are right about the one-time charges (and there were a bundle associated with some purchases, layoffs, and a failed purchase), but the company indeed had earnings (before one-time charges) of, I think, 0.10 a share last quarter, substantially below estimates in the mid-to-high teens. There will be one-time charges this time, too, I'm sure, but the market will be looking at the estimates that exclude those charges.

As Jim Switz has noted several times on this thread, Adaptec does not want to post an operating loss this quarter. Let's see what happens.
