Melissa, I'm not suggesting they lied. I am saying that at the very least they shot from the hip. But even so, I think they owe shareholders and explanation. I also believe that this misinformation will trigger a spate of lawsuits.

****

Now, given what Michelle has told us about a loosening job market for technical people in the ERP arena, I think that it is time for PSFT to use its cash to strengthen its market position with front office or other application add-ons. And it should do this with hostile takeovers if necessary because the fear of losing top talent isn't as much a threat now as it was a year ago. I also think that PSFT, along with a lot of other tech companies need to abandon this sham of using options in lieu of salaries to finance labor costs off of the income statement. If PSFT reprices its options to keep its workers happy this will absolutely crush the stock short term.

TTFN,
CTC

Melissa, Yeah I agree there is no evidence this mgmt team is intentionally trying to mislead investors. In fact, psft mgmt are the last people I would question regarding integrity.

With regards to analysts, the 2 bad ones imo are Melissa Eisenstat of Oppenheimer and anybody from CS First Boston. Totally clueless calls from those people. Everybody else is pretty good. I can only imagine how tough it must be to be an analyst.
