Toys used to be admired for their moving parts; this year it's the
private parts that are causing a stir

By DENNIS BUECKERT -- Canadian Press
OTTAWA - The new Corolle Paul and Virginie bath babies are fully waterproof, smell like
vanilla, and mark a revolution of sorts as the first anatomically correct dolls to hit the mass
market in Canada.

The Canadian Toy Testing Council has
given Paul and Virginie the coveted "best bet"
designation in its annual Toy Report released
Wednesday. The council is especially
impressed at the enthusiastic reaction from
young males.

"Boys are playing with these dolls," raves
Marie Levine, spokeswoman for the
non-profit agency, in an interview. "I know
that one of my testers could not believe it.
Her son could identify with the male doll. "It
just opened up a whole new area of play. She
was very, very excited."
