Question for the board: when analysts change their ratings, do they give a heads up to their firm's clients before releasing the news? If they do, it might explain why they downgrade near the bottom and upgrade near the top. It would also explain the fact that these stocks move before the upgrade/downgrade. Question #2: How much does it cost to be a client of, say, Morgan Stanley or Lehman? At least in Peoplesoft's case, the analysts knew more than the management...
