kash,

<Your Fab is running at 10% capacity and you are losing tens of millions of dollars/quarter.>

Are you saying that the size/capacity of a Fab can not be planned in accordance with anticipated demand?? This seems backwards. Build a fab of size x and then figure out how to run it at full capacity?

<They will make money this quarter. They will be pretty close to intel's highest speeds by end of quarter. They will have a reasonably competitive K-3 in Q1 99.>

Execuse me if I remain skeptical but I have heard these exact types of predictions many times in the past. We'll just have to wait and see.

<Profits(however meager)>

One profitable quarter out of the last 5 (and "meager" as you yourself describe it) does not make a profitable company. Let's see how many profitable quarters they can string together. AMD has a history of showing profits for one or two quarters when they are filling the channel with a new product/chip. My guess is that this time is no different....one or two profitable quarters followed by many quarters of red ink.

Like I said earlier, we'll just have to wait and see.

Good luck,

FF
