You are right about accounting irregularities and how long it takes the stench to clear. I've been in two of those: MWHS about 3-4 years ago, and CD right now. When any company talks about restating results for prior years--watch out!

But what i've seen quite a lot of lately, especially with small-cap stocks with thin float, is that when a warning comes out there are enough nervous sellers and triggering of stops that there is a veritable stampede for the exits until someone steps in and starts sucking up the shares.

I don't know who was holding a floor for LSN at just below 9 1/2 today, but someone obviously was swallowing all that were offered.

But. Whoever it was could change to selling tomorrow.

Sometimes it takes just a few days (like TLGD), or sometimes a few weeks to find a bottom: e.g. CCMC, ESCMF, INFM, REV, and NICEY. Or months: USF. Nobody knows.

Only time will tell why LSN's earnings are delayed and why the results will not meet consensus estimate. I somehow get the feeling that if mgmt is a bunch of crooks, there would be evidence of such all over. And, since i haven't seen any evidence of malfeasance, i just have to assume they're telling us all that they can at this point.

Finally, with the thin float, just a little bit of panic escalates quite rapidly.

Breaking 10 put it back to where it was in April 1997. Back then, it didn't stay down there very long at all.
