I wonder if Sequent is using their own chip sets or uses the 450NX to tie together 4 XEONS and then links 8 groups of 4 XEONS in their ccNUMA configuration.> I would guess that Sequent designs their own chipsets. They have a lot of experience in creating platforms which support a huge number of processors simultaneously. Intel may just want to specialize in the four-way SMP designs, at least through Merced.
