I would be a lot more worried about what the Fed does or does not do mid-November.

Does not do? Unless something changes in the next few weeks, I cant see how the Fed wont cut rates. Is there anybody that thinks the economy is so healthy they dont need to reduce rates by 1/4 at least? Things are slowing around here thats for sure.

If the SEnate or House go decidely Republican (closer to 2/3s) then it will be taken as a signal that the public is behind the impeachment hearings. Emboldened, the R's will drag it out. This kind of uncertainty is at least as damaging as uncertainty over rates/the Fed.

Since usually Republican wins are good for the market, this would be ironic. I am as worried about this impeachment dragging on as I am about other policy events (Interest rates, IMF liquidity, etc.)

Generally, it's very hard for politics to impact the market in a non-presidential election year. But an impeachment inquiry will have a strong impact if it's not resolved before early 1999
