Has anyone on the thread already discussed how the higher premium for risk / lower rate environment will affect AMZN's model ?

Amazon's plan is to expend at breakneck speed to become a high volume low margin entity.

With the recent shift in the markets, I would think that below-investment grade creditors, and especially those in low-margin businesses like AMZN, can no longer raise money through the bond market, as this would be too expensive.

In this context, how likely are we to see a new offering of shares ?

At the same time, I am not sure how significant of an impact lower rates will have on their interest income.

Anyone care to comment on the above ?

...then tells someone that s/he is full of sh-t???

Honesty is the highest form of sincerity.

>>ignoring questions posed to you that relate to valuation or to business strategy.

I said it over and over that nobody knows what Amazon is worth. It's like trying to figure what California was worth in 1849. As far as business strategy goes, I think I've contributed a lot.

>>you have Bateman and Mark

Oh, yeah, Bateman. His insights really help me sleep better.

>>I'll take my chances with those who know not only what a dcf is, but can run one.

No one knows what the CF component is. Don't get hung up on valuation modelling. David Readerman (smart, capable, widely-respected) has extensive published DCF work Amazon and he's probably kicking himself like he did on Yahoo earlier this year. Again, nobody knows what the CF component is.

>>You act as though the mere fact the stock goes up, validates your "analysis."

Good. That's right. It sure helps. Stock performance is the most important measure of a company's progress. Not the only one, but the best one. Before you throw Presstek or Iomega or Bre-X at me, I'm talking about stocks that have weathered one market cycle, like Amazon now has.

There's only one Yahoo and there's only one Amazon, and they both rule. Until proven otherwise, my money rides. I'm not disinvesting based on what some competitor might or could do.

>>So kindly stop pontificating and acting like the arbiter of sanity and reason here.

Aw, shucks. Waging a debate almost single-handedly on seven fronts with people's sinister imaginings doesn't leave too much time for protecting feelings.

>>I can't believe I just spent all this time typing to defend OC

Me either. Defending OC by use of reason is pointless, no?

>>I know it was addiction to posting here and not my entreaties which kept you with us

It's a need to save you.
