So paulie,

what do you think tlc's market share will be in education, reference, and productivity for the month of septmber? as I recall, you were predicting below 35% in august for education. (Actual results were above 39%)

care to make a guess about market share in september? You wouldn't have the courage. In fact you never have.

Although your share count figures for september will be wrong, but you do seem to have a problem with pooling of interest accounting. complain to fasb, not the thread.

But the share count won't be asurprise to anyone, it's a weighted average sharecount based on the lenght of time brod was part of tlc. Take a look at the goldman report with its proforma model with brod, it's got a good guess on share count for the quarter.

I have bad news for you Paul.

TLC total sales in PC DATA for Sep.98

$ 39 million up 56% from September

Total market share: 11.6% versus 9.7%

I am sorry Paul. Better luck next month.

Paulie,

what are your thoughts on TLC's markeshare in education, personal productivity, and reference for the month of September?

I can see why you fought the broderbund acquisition so hard. the combination of broderbund's franchises and TLC's distribution power is pretty impressive. now TLC is clearly the number two consumer software publisher with 11.6% share of the entire market!

And the much more accurate monthly results for september show TLC with 4 of the top ten and 9 of the top 20 in education. Interestingly, they were all titles internally developed at TLC. So the real boost form the broderbund fall product launches won't hit until October.

In addition, TLC has just as substantial a presence in personal productivity and reference. Combined, they are as important to TLC as education.

What are your predictions again for the dire results in the September quarter?
